Future iPad To Feature Dual Dock Connectors?

by on October 7th, 2010

Today, Mission Repair posted a photo showing a new iPad back enclosure that features two dock connectors. The dock connectors seem to assist in landscape and portrait orientations.

The original iPad dock connector is still in the same place but now there seems to be a second dock connector on the side of the iPad.

Ask and you shall receive: Here’s a shot of an iPad back case showing the dock connectors both on the bottom of the iPad (as we’re used to) and on the side of the iPad so you can dock it in landscape mode. Just as we hoped.

As indicated earlier, the current iPad model only has one dock connector on the portrait (narrow) side. The new, second dock connector is now on the landscape side.

Mission Repair believes this could be the next iPad but at this time, it is difficult to gauge how legitimate the photo is and whether the photo is an old hardware prototype for the original iPad.
