MossPuppet Teaches Us How To Make An iPad Stylus

by on September 21st, 2010

For those who prefer a stylus with their iPad, whether for typing or drawing, the best technology journalist in the world, Wall Mosspuppet, has provided a brief tutorial on how to create a custom stylus on the cheap.

The custom stylus is by no means an elegant solution, but it is almost free to create. Here are the supplies you’ll need:

– An empty pen
– Clear tape
– Scissors
– The wrapper from a protein (or equivalent) bar

Once you have your tools, using the scissors, cut a small 4cm x 2cm piece out from the wrapper of your chosen bar and wrap it around (foil side out) the tip of the pen, leaving some space between the end of the pen and the wrapper.

Next, secure the wrapper with the clear tape and you’re all set! For the specific tutorial, check out the video below.

Oh, and remember to apologize to Steve for not using your finger.

Wouldn’t a foil wrapper scratch the iPad screen after rubbing it around day after day?

  • Haha, I think you have a crush on mossberg! 😉

The foil wrapper for this product is quite smooth and glides over the surface.
