Telus Flex Data Plan Promo: Almost ‘Unlimited’ Overages for $5 for First 2 Months

by on March 15th, 2012

Telus has just introduced a new data flex plan promotion, according to MobileSyrup. The plan offers users a cap of $5 in overages each month for the first two months after activation. Also activation fees will be waived. Looks like this is a promo to get people to jump onto the Telus LTE network to try it out first, before they get to Rogers or Bell:

Starting on March 16 until April 30, TELUS customers who activate on the Flex Data Plan for Tablets will not be charged overage fees above $5 for the first two months following activation. Activation fees will also be waived when activating on this plan. In addition, customers will experience TELUS’ new 4G LTE network while surfing and downloading on their tablets.

So, according to the description by Telus, once could activate the $5/10MB flex plan, then use 2GB of data in the first month, and pay only $5 extra in overages. So, it works out to $10 for up to the maximum flex of 5GB for one month of LTE, if the chart was to continue to 5GB. Not a bad deal at all!

We’ll have a post comparing LTE data plans and options published soon, stay tuned. In the mean time, every LTE iPad owner will probably want to jump on this promo. I have a hunch Rogers and Bell will match it fairly quickly.
