iFunia Video Converter For iPad + Giveaway!

by on June 3rd, 2010

iFunia is an online brand that creates many audio and video conversion programs for both Windows and Mac environments. With the launch of the iPad, they updated their Video Converter Pro app to include support for the latest Apple device.

The iFunia Video Converter Pro is a Mac application that is used to, as the name implies, convert video in either SD or HD. The app supports many of the most popular formats including AVI, WMV, AVCHD, MKV, FLV, H.264/AVC, MP4, MOV, and 3GP.

Interestingly, the app can also extract audio from video files and then further convert those audio files into MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, or AAC.

The app allows users to easily drag and drop to convert video and save it for any iPod that supports video, iPhone, iPad, the Apple TV and even other portable devices. In other words, while the app is Mac specific, it is not Apple specific.

The iFunia Video Converter Pro also provides a few minor editing tools such as trimming, cropping, and the ability to add watermarks and various effects.

The feature that I really like about the application is the built-in device presets. This allows users to simply select which device they want to convert video to and then just begin the conversion process. There is no need to manage settings or sizes.

iFunia is available online for $35.00. There is also a free trial that users can download, however note that the trial has conversion-time limitations and it can only convert the first 5-minutes of a video file.

System Requirements

  • 1GHz or higher Intel processor
  • Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later
  • 512MB RAM or higher
  • 1024×768 or higher resolution display

I now have an iPad. This is big enoughbto actually watch stuff on. This app sounds perfect to convert my avi files for the iPad especially when I'm away from home and can't use AirVideo.

  • Wuju

I've had my iPad for over a month now but there isn't any video to play, why? Sadly because I don't know of any good HD conversion from my DVD collections. This sounds like an easy and great software to own, would love to win it to step into the world of HD conversion and to finally able to watch HD movies in my iPad. My niece would love it indeed. :)

  • Jason

What better way to show off the iPad than to play movies in stunning HD?!
To think, not too long ago we were impressed just to watch a movie on a tiny iPod screen!!!
I would love to use iFunia’s Video Converter Pro to transfer my video collection over to the iPad.

  • Pascal

This sounds it would make a great tool for preparing a long flight with the kids and transfer them DVDs over the iPad : )

  • Ygq

  • Jay

I have tried so many convertors and really need a good one. My iPad is full of iPhone quality movies and I am in need of converting a large number of videos.
I am on a lot of trips this summer and this would be perfect.

  • CdnPhoto

  • Jonathan

This is quite a coincidence because I've spent that last couple days researching different converters. I'd love a copy of iFunia to setup my iPad. 64G is a lot of room to fill.

  • Larry Edmonton

I would like it to easily convert existing files

  • Romi

To be honest I sold my iPhone to get my iPad and I've blown everything I put aside for this iPad, now I'm stuck cause I can't afford a single video converting program. I wanted to put some home videos on it but I can't afford $35 bux right now and this would kindly help me out. So please I really do need a copy of iFunia that would really help me out thank u very much. I need to be able to enjoy this machine to my fullest ability thank u.

  • Steve Yanover

I'd love to convert the video we shot at school, so I could distribute it to my students.

  • Steve

I don't need it because I just use the free, open source Handbrake program: http://handbrake.fr/

Seriously, charging $35 for this is ridiculous.

    FAIL

Home movie conversion is my biggest need. If there's a default iPad setting that works best for these I'd be a happy camper.

  • Andre Pelletier

  • greg

This would be great for converting videos for my iPad and apple tv.

  • nicknowsky

Its funny your having this contest, cause I've been on a rave lately about the lack of a GOOD media player for jailbroken iPad, and I was just saying how I cant find a good video converter for my iPad, Ive got a close to a 1TB of video and I hate using AirVideo, I would love a good video converter!! This might be it!

  • mtlscream

I've been using handbrake for years but seems not it's not as great as it used to be…. I'm trying to put all my movies on my hard drive for my Apple Tv and now my iPad…. so could be nice to have this one….

  • Eric Armstrong

I want to be able to put my kids movies on my iPad so they don't keep wrecking the DVDs — the iPad will be great for long trips, and having movies onboard (thanks to this app) would be grand.

  • Michael

I want iFunia to convert video for my mom's ipad so she doens't have to worry about it !

  • budcolby

Because I really don't want to have to pay for it myself!

  • Randy

This looks awesome! I'd love it because I already have purchased video conversion software in the past with less than stellar results. I'd love to give this one a try!

  • Aslam Nathoo

This looks good I was looking at them as well as their competitor – iSky. I would like to use this to convert the AVCHD MTS videos that my Lumix ZS3 digital camera produced from my trip to Central Asia last year to a format that I can show off to folks on my iPad.

    Please pick me! :)

    Thanks,
    Aslam

P.S. I am posting comments via Disqus, can you still get my e-mail address or do I need to logout of Disqus and post using the old method?

  • Dustin

I can't find any other solution to convert a couple of my videos, iFunia seems to be the only way! That is why I need it.

  • Tyler

I would love to use iFunia’s Video Converter Pro to transfer(convert) my videos to the iPad. I think it would be great to win a copy.

  • iVictoria

Why I need the iFunia Video Converter – We have hundreds of videos of our twin girls – from the day they were born, their first birthday, first steps, etc… you get the picture but my family has never seen the picture(s) (videos) because they have never been edited and placed in a format that can be easily distributed and viewed by all. IFunia Video Converter will finally allow me to edit (with full sound and even background music) and compile truly beautiful videos of our daughters and to share them with the whole family back east. It would be nice to finally have a program that allows me to do this with relatively little effort! Cheers, iVictoria

  • jgsaxton

The iFunia Video Converter looks awesome! Ever since getting my iPad I have been looking for a video converter that would fit the bill and is fast and easy to use. The reason that I am in such dire need for one is the simple fact that my iPad seems to have become 'family' property and that I now find myself having to convert the videos and such of all 3 kids, myself and my wife. I would love a copy of iFunia as it would be a huge time saver and give me all the more time to try and get some time in playing with my iPad. Please help me get some sanity back!!! =) Thanks.

  • Fritz

I am ashamed to admit: I need this software to convert Windows Media Center files to put on my son's iPod. He loves that Yo Gabba creature, and of course Sesame Street. I fought long and hard with EyeTV before going this way, now I have weird Windows video files that are a pain to get into iTunes on Mac.

  • Robert

I would love a free copy of iFunia video converter for the iPad! I originally got this iPad for myself but my wife and the two kids have now taken it hostage. I rarely have any time for it myself. Not that I mind though. It's a great feeling when we get something that the whole family can enjoy. I currently have a converter that converts DVDs to an iPhone format. The videos look okay, but not that great on the iPad. An iPad specific converter just makes sense. Our family will be very grateful if we can win a free copy of the iFunia video converter.

  • Kyle

I need iFunia's Video Converter Pro so I have an excuse to buy an iPad! If that's not reason enough, I don't know what is!

  • Xaroc

I bring my ipad to work with 2 audio splitters having myself, and two of my friend co-workers watch southpark at lunch. Would be cool to have a proper converter to ensure proper quality. Thanks for reading :)

    Sure, happy for a copy!

ever since the ipad came out in canada last friday, i've been searching for a versatile video converter to convert my vast album of blu-rays, dvds, and mkv files to a suitable format for my ipad so my wife and kid can both enjoy it while we're out. i've tried all the programs from the following developers: xilisoft, pavsoft, aunsoft, aleesoft, ainsoft, emicsoft, aneesoft, to name a few, but none has been able to do what i want to do: which is to hardcode subtitles onto mp4 files. alas, i've found a free alternative solution in xvid4psp, but the finished product has distorted audio…… i'm hoping ifunia will finally be the winner and allowing me to finally convert my video files in peace. thanks.

  • Wlhappy

I'd like to use it to convert my daughter's videos so that we could enjoy them on my new iPad!

  • Grant

I'd like to support a new video converter since th last one I used is no longer maintained. (Visual Hub)

    Make room for new blood!!

  • Gio

For those of you who uses this software, I want to know how fast it converts a full length video? I love the handbreak software.

  • reg

I'm on the waiting list for the next shipment of Ipads at the Apple store. I've got a bunch of instructional videos that I need to convert, so this would be great.

  • zholy

HandBrake's popularity is benefit from free. On the other hand, it is difficult to use for beginner, lack support and weak stability. HandBrake attend technology and ignore user experience.

I used Aneesoft iPad Video Converter, easy to use and works fine for me.Support batch files conversion and Fast conversion speed provided.
