Rumour: next generation iPad to lose Home button

by on January 14th, 2011

There is a rumour going around that the next generation iPad will be loosing the Home button and be replaced by a multi finger gesture as seen in the iOS 4.3 developer release.

The original article is readable at: http://www.bgr.com/2011/01/12/exclusive-apple-will-remove-home-button-on-next-ipad-and-iphone-photo-booth-and-ilife-coming

I am not sure if I like the idea or not yet. I guess I will have to judge when it actually happens and I get my hands on one of those devices.

What are your thoughts on the topic?

Rumour. Started by BGR. From their unnamed source.

This alone should let everyone know that BGR is BS. I’ll never trust them for anything. They’re wrong about everything and make up fake stuff like this. I have no idea why anyone believes anything they post.

I think it will more likely be removed in next years model not this years. Given that the beta is asking for developer comments now only a few months from the rumored release. I don’t think Apple would take the chance that the multi-finger gestures could be a huge flop this close to the release.
