Yesterday, a rumor led us to start hoping for the first ever LTE supported iPad being unveiled at tomorrow’s Apple event and now, a new report from Reuters further raises our expectations. According to Reuters‘ anonymous sources, the new iPad will be capable of operating on a high-speed 4G LTE network. The report suggests that Apple believes its customers are willing to pay a little extra for an LTE supported iPad due to the high-quality video. Just like yesterday’s report, this one also supports WSJ’s claim that an LTE-equipped next-gen iPad would be landing on Verizon and AT&T.
According to the source:
“The newest iPad will be capable of operating on a high-speed 4G “LTE,” or Long-Term Evolution network, according to a source familiar with the product. At speeds roughly 10 times faster than current 3G technology, that may go a long way toward banishing the sometimes shaky video quality of older devices.”
With ‘Big 3′ networks of Rogers, Telus, and Bell all up and running on 4G LTE networks, an LTE supported iPad would be warmly welcomed in Canada.
