A recent report by 9to5Mac claimed that Apple is going to introduce a refresh of the current 3rd generation iPad alongside the all new iPad Mini at the upcoming media event. The refresh of full-sized iPad will retain the current specs and pricing but will incorporate the new dock connector. Today, a photo published by Apple.Pro shows a rear shell of full-sized 9.7″ Retina iPad with a Lightning port, replacing the old dock connector (via 9to5Mac).
Apple.Pro is known to have a fairly reliable track record when it comes to sharing images of parts for upcoming Apple products.
“The authors of blog Apple.Pro have posted a photo of what appears to be the shell for the upcoming tweaked third-generation iPad with a Lightning port. No other changes appear to be shown in this image. That is in line with expectations of this being a very minor refresh.”.
Apple will reportedly start selling the 7.85″ iPad Mini on Friday the 2nd of November, with pre-orders beginning 3 days after the Oct. 23rd launch event. The device will initially be available in the US and UK along with some other countries.
