Japanese blog Makotakara notes today their sources have indicated Apple’s purported ‘iPad Mini’ has started production at Foxconn plants in Brazil, a strategic location setup for tax breaks. The report notes according to sources, there is no longer a microphone hole on the backside as we have seen in purported leaked cases, and it is too early to tell if any specifications have been changed.
The site recently posted a hands-on video of a possible ‘iPad Mini’ dummy to show the comparison of how much smaller a 7.85-inch iPad would be. In early July, we similarly heard from Makotakara an iPad Mini with 3G networking would be produced in Brazil as well and this time around it seems both reports are related.
Earlier today, we heard a rumour iPad Mini event invitations would be mailed out on October 10th. Seems like the ‘whispers’ of a smaller iPad are quickly coming into the limelight as we’ve hit October.
