Some additional reports/rumors of the second-generation iPad hit the web this weekend that claim the iPad 2 will have three versions, feature a 1024×768 display, and have the same quality cameras as the fourth-generation iPod touch.
Ming-Chi Kuo, of Concord Securities, released a note to investors this weekend detailing his ideas for the iPad 2. The analyst agrees that the iPad 2 will feature the existing 1024×768 display of the current-generation iPad. The report also explains that there will be three models of the device: WiFi-only, GSM 3G, and CDMA. Within each device, there is likely to be varying storage capacities.
Kuo further agrees that Apple will introduce new improvements to the iPad such as a thinner display panel and a Kindle-like anti-reflection coating on the display (helps when using the iPad outside, for example).
As for iPad 2 internal components, Kuo indicates that the next-generation device will feature a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, which is likely to be dubbed the “A5″. As for the cameras, the claim is that the iPad 2 will feature a front-facing 0.3 megapixel camera with VGA video and a 1 megapixel back-facing camera.
The report simply restates the majority of the recent rumors, so it is difficult to say if these claims are legitimate.
