We reported earlier today on iPhoneinCanada regarding rumors of the next generation iPhone which will sport a 4-inch display and will be 8mm longer than before with an aluminum casing. Now, rumors of iPad 3 are also getting stronger as sources inside the supply chain are expecting a March 2012 release of the next version. It is believed that iPad 3 will be thicker than iPad 2, though not as thick as the original iPad. Also, it will sport a much higher resolution display with an improved lighting system.
Citing from the source:
iPad 3 is planned to launch in March and it will be approximately 0.7 mm thicker than the iPad 2 due to the need to incorporate a dual light bar system for the higher-resolution display. The iPad 2 currently checks in 8.8 mm thick, which would make the iPad 3 approximately 8% thicker than the iPad 2 but still substantially thinner than the 13.4 mm original iPad.
Although it’s possible that this new iPad will be introduced in January, it’s reportedly on track for a March launch.
