Radiant Opto-Electronics, a Taiwan based component manufacturer, is expected to supply over 2 million backlight units (BLUs) for Apple’s forthcoming 7.85-inch ‘iPad Mini’ during the month of October with another two million units shipping next month, according to DigiTimes‘ industry sources.
Those numbers are expected to boost Radiant’s revenues during the fourth quarter of 2012. Shipments for other iPad models as well as monitors were however reportedly down in the second quarter, claims the report.
Radiant is expected to increase shipments for 21.5- and 27-inch all-in-one (AIO) PCs as well as for various 13-inch notebook models in the fourth quarter to as high as 300,000 units each, added the sources.
The sources also said the company’s consolidated revenues will exceed NT$6 billion (US$204 million) in October and NT$7 billion in November as a result, with revenues in November expected to be the highest in 2012.
A dedicated iPad Mini launch event is expected to take place on October 23rd, though Apple is yet to make the event official.
