The iPad is going to make reading digital content on a device incredibly beautiful and interactive. We saw a preview of what is to come from Interview Magazine. Wired Magazine just announced at the TED 2010 conference that they will have a dedicated iPad magazine by this summer.
Wired Magazine Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson had this to say:
“I’m from the media world,” Anderson told the audience “and as you may have heard, we have lots of questions about our future. The good news is I think we found part of the answer…We think this is a game changer.”
As expected, full use of multitouch will allow users to get fully immersed into the digital magazine on the iPad. You will be able to read product reviews, touch and manipulate photos, and watch videos as well. Advertisements will also be interative.
What about pricing? For readers in Canada currently pay $40/year for print subscriptions (International addresses pay $70). There was no mention of iPad pricing, but we can conclude that a digital subscription will be cheaper. All we need now are iPads!
