Who says the iPad is just for play? During a stroll out to Innocent Coffee in Vancouver with my wife, we stumbled upon a really cool sight: the iPad as a cash register. Thanks to the app Quick Sale, these store owners were able to eliminate the need for an expensive Point of Sale (POS) machine, and save space by just having the iPad resting on a stand on the counter. Not only that, the idea saves paper as our receipt was emailed to us. Too cool.
Quick Sale is $9.99 in the App Store, and seeing it in action clearly shows the developer has created an excellent POS app. Square isn’t in Canada yet, so we’ll have to find alternate methods for the iPad.
What other innovative solutions have you seen the iPad being used as?
