For global web traffic from desktops and tablets combined, the iPad currently accounts for 1.2%. It’s a small market share relative to desktops, but leads the way in the tablet space. Android, in comparison, currently makes up 0.15% global web traffic.
Earlier in this week, ComScore also posting some interesting usage data. The iPad now accounts for a higher share of Internet traffic than iPhones (46.8 percent vs. 42.6 percent of all iOS device traffic).
They also posted this graph showing which devices are used at which hours of the day — tablets skew heavily toward early morning and after-dinner usage.
The variance shows that consumers may favor some platforms over others at various points in the day.
