During the iPad launch it was reported that Apple sold somewhere between 600-700k iPads. We’ll probably hear a more accurate number from Apple, but until then we can only speculate. Imagine being an employee working on one of the busiest days of the year–and then the CEO shows up!
That’s what happened at the Palo Alto Apple Store according to the MercuryNews:
In Palo Alto, the presence of Apple guru Jobs gave everyone a brush with the highest of Silicon Valley high-tech fame.
Wearing a black hoodie and jeans, Jobs, who came with his wife, Laurene Powell-Jobs, and daughter, scanned the displays of tech goodies and watched Apple employees give iPad how-to demonstrations. And he drew amazed gazes from shoppers already expressing excitement overload.
“I love the iPad,” one 20-something female shopper blurted out to Jobs. To which he happily replied, “Good!”
I’m pretty sure while Steve was there, he happily was licking his chops at how much money the company was bringing in, and in return booting the company’s stock profile. Don’t you just love Steve’s black and blue outfits? I wonder what his closet looks like (nothing but black turtle necks, blue jeans, and New Balance shoes).
To add even more Apple celebrity sightings to this mix, Apple’s coveted designer, Jon Ivy was spotted buying iPads himself. You’d think after coming up with some of the most advanced new age designs, he’d get some units for free. Guess not??
