Slacker Radio Now Unlimited For Canadians

by on January 8th, 2011

Slacker Radio, an Internet radio service available since 2010 on Android, iOS, Palm, and Windows Mobile 7, is now offering their service unlimited to Canadians for free.

For those not already using Slacker, the service delivers millions of songs by many artists that are streamed through the company’s mobile app. Using over 130 programmed radio stations, users can discover new music. However, users can further create their own personalized radio stations.

When the service first launched in 2010, Slacker users were limited to a free 30-day trial which was followed by a $3.99/month upgrade cost (if subscribed to one year of service) or $4.99/month (if subscribed month by month). With this latest announcement, this free 30-day trial is now unlimited!

While the majority of the service is now unlimited, the subscription costs remain, as some features are exclusive to subscribers. One of those features is a new on-demand music update. Slacker now provides subscribed users with on-demand streaming in which users can choose music from the Slacker libraries. Previously, users could not control which tracks to play.

For iPad users in specific, the new app now supports on-demand (if subscribed), artist bios/images, lyrics, and album art.
