Apple has made a brief update on iTunes to include their social music network Ping on the iPad. If you launch iTunes on your iPad, you’ll now see the addition of Ping at the bottom. You will need to sign in via iTunes on your computer and sync to get it working.
Ping was introduced by Apple in early September along with iTunes 10. The service had over 1 million users in the first couple of days but now, it seems the whole thing has fizzled. I don’t use Ping as it’s just another social network to keep track of. The concept is nice, but I have no desire to use it.
Did Apple strike out on this one? Maybe things would have been different if there was Facebook Connect right off the bat.
Are you still using Ping?
