Norway PM Runs Country On His iPad: Blame it on Eyjafjallajokull

by on April 21st, 2010

With the skies over Europe frozen because of the eruptions of Eyjafjallajokull (try saying that ten times quickly), air travel has not been possible. There are people stranded at airports around the world trying to reach Europe but to no avail. One of those people includes the Norwegian Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg.

As volcanic ash blanketed Norway’s airspace, Norway’s PM jumped to action. However, there was one problem–he was stuck in New York. So, what did he do? He started running his country on his iPad. Here’s what Jens had to say:

“There are good means of communication, I have close contacts with my office all the times, and there are a lot of activities in Norway where we try to reduce the consequences of the volcano in Norway,” Stoltenberg told CNN.

“It’s very normal for a PM to travel abroad so this is not different from the other travels, it’s just lasts some days more than expected. We have the internet, the mobile phone.

“I also use an iPad, which is excellent.”

Jens and Co. eventually caught a later flight back to Spain, where they then traveled the rest of way home by car. One thing is for sure, is he was only able to do one thing at a time since multitasking won’t arrive with iPhone OS 4 until the Fall.
