Robert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corp., has been reported by the Wall Street Journal to confirm that the WSJ newspaper will make its way to the iPad.
The report further states that Apple has given the company access to an iPad but the device is kept under strict lock and key and overseen directly by Apple.
Mr. Murdoch said the Journal planned to be on Apple Inc.’s iPad tablet computer. “In fact, we’ve been allowed to work on one, and it’s under padlock and key. The key is turned by Apple every night,” he said in response to a question. “But we will be on that with The Wall Street Journal.” Mr. Murdoch said he believed in a year or so there will be a half dozen or more devices on which consumers will be able to receive newspapers and other media.
The Wall Street Journal is the latest media to make its way to the iPad. Earlier this week, Condé Nast announced plans to bring its titles to the iPad and in late February, a list of various book titles were also found to debut on the Apple tablet.
