According to a report from AllThingsD, Good Technology reveals data that shows that iPad usage is growing in the enterprise world.
According to Good Technology, 27 percent of the mobile devices activated by enterprise customers during Q2 2011 were tablets. Of the tablets activated, 95 percent were iPads!
During the same quarter, Android tablets declined 3.1 percent, despite new devices from Samsung and Motorola. However this is not surprising considering the iPad is more established in the marketplace.
Interestingly, Good noted that there were more iPad activations during the quarter than activations of all Android tablets and smartphones combined.
“We attribute the large gap between iPad and Android tablet activations to the combination of user preference among our ‘BYOD’ users and large deployments of company-owned iPads, especially in verticals like financial services and healthcare”.
Despite the growth of iPad, Good notes that Android is expected to narrow the gap in tablet activations. But they don’t see anything major occuring until 2012.
