Looks like the love between Samsung and Apple is not dead yet!
Today iFixIt reports that Apple has removed the LG display drivers from the iPad 2 and replaced them with Samsung drivers.

LG Pre-March 2011 iPad/iPad 2 Display Driver
What this means is that LG display drivers, a driver that dates back to the iPad 1, were used in the iPad 2 devices manufactured up to March 2011. iPad 2 units manufactured after March 2011 use Samsung.
Chipworks’ latest batch of iPad 2s, however, seem to be using a new Wise-View chip. Little to no information can be found about the chip at this time, except that it appears to be a technology developed by Samsung.

With little information about the Samsung chip, and no details of why Apple has made the swap, iFixIt speculates that Apple could be readying future iPad’s for a higher resolution display. Or maybe Apple simply decided to switch suppliers.
