With the release of iOS 5 Beta 4 by Apple on Friday, the introduction of ‘delta’ updates over the air was enabled. During Apple’s 2011 WWDC keynote about iOS 5, ‘delta’ updates noted only the changes in iOS would be downloaded instead of the entire operation system.
The ‘delta’ update for the iPad is available through accessing Settings–> General–> Software Update. The iPad update weighed in at 129 MB, and can be downloaded over WiFi or 3G. Connecting to a power source is highly recommended, as the update won’t work if you have under 50% battery life, according to Apple.

These are exciting times for iPad users, with iOS 5 coming this Fall will take your device to a whole new level.
