With this weeks iOS 4.2 Beta 2 release, one of the newly uncovered features seems to be the ability to tether.
The new beta 2 includes tethering options via the iPad settings menu. Oddly enough, the menu only seems to appear on European carriers and so far, has not appeared on AT&T or any of the Canadian wireless carriers.
Reports indicate that these settings may allow tethering an iPad’s 3G connection to another device such as a laptop. This is similar to what iPhone devices can do currently via USB or Bluetooth.
While the tethering capability on the iPad is great, it still seems that iPhone owners will be unable to tether their device to the iPad to share the iPhone’s 3G connection.
