Get $99 AppleCare+ For Your New iPad In Canada

by on March 7th, 2012

Apple is now listing the new $99 AppleCare+ for iPad extended protection plan on its Canadian website. According to the website, the plan provides coverage for accidental damage with each incident subject to a $49 fee. The new iPad plan also covers your iPad, your battery, any Time Capsule or AirPort device purchased two years before or during your plan, as well as the iPad’s power adapter and USB cable.

You’ll have to grab AppleCare+ for your new iPad within 30 days of your purchase, so it will likely become available in time for the new iPad’s March 16 launch.

AppleCare+ provides repair or replacement coverage, both parts and labour, from Apple-authorized technicians. Service coverage includes the following:

  • Your iPad
  • Battery
  • Time Capsule or AirPort device
  • Included USB cable and power adapter
  • Coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling of your iPad, each subject to a $49 service fee

  • What will happen to those who want AppleCare for their 1-11 month old iPad2?

Here the answer I got from Apple:

“AppleCare+ will be available for customers who have purchased a new iPad or the iPad 2 within the last 30 days.

For previous buyers, they will be able to get the $79 AppleCare simply [and only] by ordering over the phone with AppleCare. [No Retail Apple Care sales]

Those who bought an iPad2 on launch date last year (March 25th, 2011) still have till March 25th, 2012 to call AppleCare in order to get it.

If you bought an iPad2 in the last 30 days, you would have to pick the new 99$ AppleCare+ unless you really want to call AppleCare directly”

Guessing it ‘s also applying to iPhone
