DigiTimes has yet more reports today that indicate that the Apple iPad will maintain dominance among many tablet competitors in 2011.
The report from DigiTimes indicates that LG shipped 1.5 million iPad display panels in November 2010 and Samsung delivered another 1.2 million iPad displays. This suggests that Apple may have sold 3 million or more iPads for November.
However, 2011 projections look very good for the iPad, as DigiTimes reports,
LG Display is estimated to land orders for 35 million iPad panels in 2011, and Samsung and Chimei Innolux (CMI), who is scheduled to join Apple’s iPad supply chain in the first quarter of 2011, will each receive orders for 15 million units.
From this, DigiTimes estimates that Apple will ship 65 million units (first and second generation combined) in 2011, which is reportedly 20 million more units than market estimates.
If we thought the iPad success in 2010 was enormous, it looks like 2011 will be even bigger!
