We just published a report regarding Apple’s crisis trying to manufacture a Retina display for the upcoming iPad 3. But apparently, this isn’t going to stop the Cupertino giant from launching the third generation iPad in early 2012 as confirmed by the latest report from Wall Street Journal. The report virtually confirms the arrival of iPad 3 with Retina resolution (2048 x 1536) in the first half of next year.
According to WSJ:
The next generation iPad is expected to feature a high resolution display – 2048 by 1536 compared with 1024 by 768 in the iPad 2 – and Apple’s suppliers have already shipped small quantities of components for the sampling of the iPad 3. Suppliers said Apple has placed orders for a 9.7-inch screen device.
Suppliers will ramp up production and try to improve the yield rate for the new iPad in the fourth quarter before its official launch in early 2012
Of course we are already aware of Apple’s intentions for an early iPad 3 launch but with a newspaper such as WSJ adding voice to the hottest rumor mill, I’d say it’s a pretty big deal!
