BAM! iPad Applications Revealed In iTunes Preview!

by on March 25th, 2010

The iPad pre-lauch news is getting better and better!

The latest reveal comes from PadGadget, who has discovered several new App Store applications that apparently represent iPad-specific apps!

The new additions have shown up in Apple’s new web-based iTunes Preview. Most of the new application titles are existing apps but the iPad versions of the apps carry a “XL” or “HD” designation. This would be inline with the iPad’s higher resolution display.

We did a quick scan and were able to find several titles clearly marked as “HD”, a common label developers are now using to indicate an iPad specific version of their app. HD is not a universal title for iPad apps, some developers are instead choosing “XL” to denote their iPad version or simply creating a universal build so that both the iPhone and iPad versions are contained in a single app. There are probably many more titles in the database that have been approved by Apple for the iPad that we haven’t yet stumbled upon.

Unfortunately, upon clicking on the new iPad apps, users are displayed a dialog box that states that the item is currently not available. The iPad apps are also not available within the desktop version of iTunes.

Check out the app list below:

  • Ammoin HD
  • Azkend HD
  • Flight Control HD
  • Grind HD
  • HD Recovery
  • Labyrinth 2 HD
  • NBA Hotshot HD
  • Numba HD
  • Plants vs. Zombie HD
  • Sparkle HD
  • Worms HD
