There have been many iPad 2 estimates about the number of units sold but no one knows for sure until Apple publishes their report. However there is a new estimate and it’s iconic!
It is estimated that Apple’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York sold 7,200 iPad 2 devices on the opening US launch day. The first day!
This report cites a “well-connected source,” and the numbers are similar to a statement this past weekend regarding iPad 2 demand.
Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster and his team also reportedly found 1,109 people were lined-up at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store this weekend, which is up from the 703 for the original 2010 iPad.
I’m sure all US Apple Stores found more lines this year than in 2010 for the Original iPad. It’s no surprise that the iPad 2 is sold out everywhere!
