A DigiTimes report today indicates that as Apple approaches Q3 2011, the company may be increasing its iPad 2 shipments to 12-14 million units.
This shipping estimate is almost double the 7-9 million estimated units shipped in Q2.
In order to significantly increase its shipments in the third quarter, Apple has been piling up its inventory of iPad 2 components such as panels in the second quarter to minimize the risk of facing component shortages.
This is obviously good news for those who are still having difficulty locating an iPad 2. However in recent weeks, supply of iPads has definitely caught up with the demand.
The Apple Online Store is shipping iPads fairly quickly and most Canadian Apple Stores have a healthy supply of iPad 2 inventory.
