Apple Seeds iOS 4.3 Beta 2, New iPad Gestures Removed?

Today, Apple seeded the second beta (8F5153d) of iOS 4.3 for iPad and other iOS devices. As many know, iOS 4.3 is the anticipated release of the next iOS firmware rumored to be due in March 2011.

So far, Beta 2 has not revealed many new features or enhancements. The settings toggle for the silent/rotation lock is still available, as are the new font options, but there was one new piece of available information regarding the new finger gestures.

In iOS 4.3 Beta 1, Apple released four and five finger gestures for the iPad that allowed users to pinch to get to the Home Screen, swipe up for multitasking, and swipe left/right to cycle through apps. It seems that these gestures are not going to be public in the final iOS 4.3 release:

This feature will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers, but we are providing this preview to gather input on how these gestures work with your apps.

Developers are encouraged to evaluate any existing interactions in their applications for potential sources of interference. In order to properly interoperate with multitasking gestures, applications must properly handle the following methods and notifications:
