Apple Reduces iPad AppleCare To $79

by on March 15th, 2011

Some great news for current and prospective iPad owners. If you trust in Apple when it comes to warranty and technical support, and you purchase AppleCare with your Apple products, Apple has reduced the price of AppleCare for iPad to $79.

For the first-generation iPad, AppleCare for iPad cost $109. In anticipation of the iPad 2, the company has reduced AppleCare for iPad by $30.

For those that do not know what AppleCare for iPad is, it is a service offered by Apple that provides owners product support of up to two years from the original iPad purchase date.

The AppleCare Protection Plan gives users direct, one-stop access to Apple’s telephone technical support for questions about using iPad and in-store hardware repair coverage — both parts and labor — for the iPad, its battery, and included accessories.

If you are a first-generation iPad owner, and are still within your 1-year standard warranty, you can still purchase AppleCare at the reduced rate. For iPad 2 buyers, you will be offered the $79 price at checkout!

This is another example of Apple thinking ahead. They didn’t have to reduce the price… it’s not like people were clamouring for reduced AppleCare prices…

But, when they do stuff like this it makes me appreciate the little things Apple does.
