Yesterday, Apple confirmed the originally rumored March 2, 2011 media event for the iPad 2. Invites were sent out with the tag line “Come see what 2011 will be the year of”.
The invites also featured a clever March 2 iCal date which was peeled back to reveal the corner of an iPad.
Late last night, @astern, via Twitter, sent out a photo of the Yerba Buena center in San Francisco. The building is getting prepared for next week’s event with a portion of the building being wrapped in display materials.
Oddly enough, the photo features an Apple logo with a series of dots which does not seem to have any direct correlation with the original March 2nd media event invite.
