This week, the Apple Canada Online Store has posted “special limited time” pricing on refurbished iPads.
At this time, only 16, 32 and 64GB Wi-Fi models are available. Pricing is $479 for 16GB, $549 for 32GB and $649 for 64GB. At these prices, the iPad is much cheaper than buying it new, which costs $549, $649, and $749 for the 16, 32, and 64GB iPad, respectively.
Each refurb iPad includes a one year warranty, a new battery, and new outer shell.
As for why Apple is providing these large discounts, it may be that Apple is attempting to clear out inventory, especially as the second-generation iPad is expected to ship in March or April 2011.
