On top of announcing the iPad mini today, Apple announced the 4th generation iPad with updated specs, which essentially sent the iPad 3rd gen into the graveyard (well, it’s available as refurbished). The 4th gen iPad gets the A6X chip that double graphics and CPU performance of the A5X and also maintains 10 hours of battery. Cosmetically, nothing has changed.
There’s a new FaceTime HD camera, faster WiFi and the new smaller Lightning connector. Existing Smart Covers and Smart Cases will be compatible with the latest iPad, which comes just six months after the debut of the iPad 3.
