This week, iLounge went off on a tangent and attempted to predict the next Apple product roll-outs.
The article predicts new iPods (obvious), a smaller iPad, and a new iPhone to be released before February 2011. The article is void of any source for the information and is likely completely wrong about the iPhone prediction, but the iPad prediction is interesting.
The current generation iPad features a 9.7-inch touchscreen display and as we have seen, it has been a complete success. Back in April, days after the USA launch, rumors of a smaller iPad, something around the 7-inch size, popped up around the interwebz.
iLounge seems to reaffirm these rumors by stating that a 7-inch-screened version of the iPad is complete and will be ready for announcement either later in 2010 or in early 2011. Considering the iPad was released in April 2010 in the USA, a new iPad around January/February 2011 may be plausible.
A smaller iPad would definitely run in the sub-$400 range, which would place this product between the full Apple iPad and a fully subsidized iPhone.
What do you think? New iPad coming soon or just wishful thinking?
