The iOS exclusive RPG game franchise Infinity Blade, which consists of the original Infinity Blade and the Infinity Blade II, will soon be getting a third installment in the massive hit series called Infinity Blade: Dungeons, the very first gameplay footage of which has just been published by Joystiq. Developed by Epic Games Inc. and its award-winning development studio, ChAIR Entertainment, the game is based on the award winning Unreal Engine 3 technology.
Looking at the gameplay video, it seems that Infinity Blade: Dungeons is set in the same world as the first two games, but features a completely different take on gameplay, using gestures to fight baddies from a top-down view rather than a fixed camera.
As the source describes:
The first gameplay footage of Infinity Blade: Dungeons reveals a game that is very different from its predecessors. For one thing, all the enemies aren’t orc-type club wielders and Voldo guys – there’s a dog thing too.
Oh, and it’s an overhead-view Diablo-style dungeon crawl experience instead of a one-on-one sword fighting game. That’s another subtle difference you may have missed.
