iPhone hacker @p0sixninja (aka Joshua Hill) recently tweeted Geohot has accepted his challenge to work on the iPad 2 jailbreak. Joshua tweeted the iPad 2 jailbreak has been one of the slowest progressing jailbreaks to date. Major Progress Made On iPad 2 Jailbreak

In April, the iPhone Dev Team released new Redsn0w and Pwnage Tool updates to jailbreak the majority of iOS devices on iOS 4.3.1. Left out of the mix however was the iPad 2!

Following the release, @p0sixninja posted via Twitter that the iPad 2 jailbreak is on its way to being finished thanks to i0n1c’s untether exploit.

With the latest release of the untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak, it did not include the iPad 2. Have no fear though, as p0sixninja confirmed on twitter tonight that the iPad 2 jailbreak is being finished thanks to i0n1c’s untether exploit.

According to recent Twitter dialogue, it looks like the Chronic Dev Team is close to a jailbreak for the iPad 2. While jailbreaks are available for iOS 4.3, there is reportedly nothing yet working for the iPad 2/A5 processor.

iPad 2 Jailbroken by Comex!

Earlier, we saw iOS 4.3 jailbroken on the original iPad by @i0n1c. This time around, famed iPhone hacker @comex has done it again. He posted the following image on twitter of his white jailbroken iPad 2, with Cydia loaded on it. Comex was able to do this remotely from over 2500 miles away, according to the iPhone Dev Team.
