iPhone hacker @comex has tweeted this afternoon a cryptic teaser, hinting at a possible jailbreak coming for the iPad 2 and iOS 5.
For those who have never tried a JailbreakMe.com jailbreak, it exploits Mobile Safari allowing for the easiest and fastest jailbreak ever, and was available for iPad users on iOS 3.2.1. The downside is the loop holes are usually fixed easily by Apple, so it would make … Read More
For users considering an install of iOS 5, you may want to hold off for a bit.
First, AppleInsider reports that Apple has informed iOS testers that any iOS devices updated to iOS 5 beta cannot be downgraded back to iOS 4. If there was a jailbreak tool however, this could be possible.
We have possible news about the iPad 2 jailbreak, or more of a teaser actually…maybe.
A few weeks ago, iOS hacker i0n1c sent a tweet about an “elevator”. The tweet hinted at jailbreaking but no one could be sure. It quickly became believed that “elevat0r” would be the name of the next iPad 2 jailbreak tool.
iPad 2 owners patiently waiting for a jailbreak to be released now have some real updates to look forward to. Joshua Hill, aka @p0sixninja recently sent out a tweet on twitter mentioning their iPad 2 jailbreak won’t be called Greenpois0n. He’s been working hard on the jailbreak since April.

The information comes from a video interview on Vokle where he further added that the jailbreak tool will be compatible with iOS 4.3 and later iOS versions.
The untethered iPad 2 jailbreak tool has been delayed since the device’s launch, but may soon be ready for general use!
