JailbreakMe 3.0 has been unleashed to the masses, (momentarily it was just taken down because ‘something is screwed up’ that has to do with website caching, according to comex. As mentioned earlier, this userland jailbreak will only work for iOS 4.3.3 on all iDevices–most notably the iPad 2.
4.3.1 and 4.3.2 will not be supported since I’m in a hurry; upgrade to 4.3.3
(if you’re patient, I’ll add support for those versions, and 4.2.1, and maybe armv6, in the future)
So it looks like JailbreakMe.com 3.0 … Read More

The SNAFU that has ensued over the leak of the JailbreakMe.com 2.0 jailbreak has been spreading like wildfire today on the Internet. Comex has been hard at work on this jailbreak, and its early release means stern consequences for the jailbreak community. @i0n1c was quick to note Apple now has the upper hand and will patch the PDF exploit used immediately in a software update, presumably iOS 4.3.4.

According to news from Comex, iOS hacker extraordinaire, he has reportedly improved the time it takes to jailbreak an iOS device. The speed improvements have further eliminated Cydia’s ‘Reorganizing Filesystem’ message by using unionfs instead of the current stashing approach.
If you don’t know, the stashing approach jailbreaks have been using for years– Cydia’s “Reorganizing Filesystem”– involves moving some large directories from the small / partition into the large /var … Read More
More juicy news on the iPad 2 jailbreak front! Based on a Tweet, now deleted, sent out by Comex, developer of the popular Jailbreakme.com Safari hack, it seems that the jailbreak tool for the iPad 2 could be released today!
It has been known for some time that Comex has been working on an iPad 2 jailbreak tool but until recently, no specific release dates were available.
You can say a lot of things about iOS 5. You can say that it’s trying to play catch up with Android. You can even say it’s a great leap forward for the platform; ensuring it stays the leader in the mobile OS space. What I’ve heard a lot of, however, is how Apple has effectively crushed their developer base and stolen/incorporated existing 3rd party app functionality into the … Read More
