It seems that the iPad is going to introduce a new way to spell check.
On an iPhone or iPod Touch, spell checking happens in two ways. When a word is spelled incorrectly, the iPhone/iPod Touch will show a single suggestion that users can accept.

Early this morning, Apple globally took down their online store for updates.
A lot of speculation is expecting updated MacBook Pros, however this could also be an opportunity to release international iPad pricing, such as for Canada.
