For those of you trying to get Personal HotSpot working with Rogers in Ontario but are receiving a “Contact Rogers to activate HotSpot” message, there is currently a province wide 3G outage which is affecting the ability to activate HotSpot on your iPhone. I’ve been told to wait until tomorrow to test the Personal HotSpot feature on the iPhone.

A Designer iPad Sleeve Without the Designer Price Tag
by on July 30, 2010

If you’ve been looking for an iPad case that not only protects your iPad but actually looks great, your search is over thanks to Colsen Keane.

I’ve had an opportunity to try almost a dozen iPad sleeves and cases over the past two months. With the exception of Vaja, which boasts a whopping $350 price tag and a 60 day wait time, the best quality and sexiest designed sleeve that I’ve … Read More

Review: Reeder for iPad (Pre-Release)
by on June 2, 2010

If you’re an RSS junkie, like I am, it’s important to always have your RSS feeds in sync. There is nothing more annoying that having to sift through posts that you’ve already read, especially when you’re following 20 or so different websites.

Over the past 3 years I’ve been using Google Reader as my primary RSS reader. The interface is simple, like all things Google, and it … Read More

iPad + Bell. My First Bill Has Arrived – Debunking the $10k Bill Myth.
by on May 20, 2010

There has been some buzz about people receiving bills for data use in excess of $4000 for a few days of service. I spent quite a few hours digging through posts and articles to try and locate said individuals to find out exactly what they were billed for. I was confident that they, or the Bell rep screwed up when setting up their Data Only plans.

Review: ToDo for iPad by Appigo + Giveaway
by on May 18, 2010

Since I purchased my iPad I have been fighting an uphill battle trying to sync everything between my Macbook Pro, my iPad, my iPhone and my Windows server. While this is still an ongoing process, I have managed to sift through the dozens of “cloud” apps that claim to be the best at what they do and I am pretty close to developing a system that works seamlessly and is … Read More

iPad Is Too Hot Temperature Warning
by on May 16, 2010

Today it happened. Something that I was hoping I’d never see. I brought my iPad 3G outside this morning so I could enjoy a coffee and a smoke while surfing the net. After 10 minutes in Safari I was typing in an address and Safari crashed. Odd.

I opened it up again, began typing the address and BAM! iPad temperature warning. It took 5 minutes for the iPad to get back … Read More

Review: StudioMini XL For The Ipad
by on May 11, 2010

The team over at Fantastocrats recently sent me a demo of StudioMini XL for the iPad, an easy to use 16 track audio recording app with built-in drum loop selection. I’ve played with StudioMini XL for the better part of last night and overall I am amazed by the sound quality that this app produces.

The Interface

The StudioMini XL UI is perfect for the iPad. It’s a tad bit … Read More

Review: iMockups for iPad
by on May 6, 2010

The iMockups interface is amazing on the iPad. It is easy to understand and everything you need is literally at the tip of your finger. The interface is separated into three sections. On the left is the projects “drawer” which slides in and out as you need it. On the right are all of the UI options which you can drag into the center area to start creating … Read More

Review: WordPress for iPad

I have been using the WordPress app on my iPhone for just over two years and it has always felt like an unfinished app. It crashes and freezes. I’ve lost countless articles in draft – after hours of writing. The app has always had bugs.

Queue WordPress for iPad – the slightly less intelligent cousin of WordPress for iPhone.

The app is sluggish and inconsistent. It lacks … Read More

Using My iPad 3G On Bell

**Updated:

I forgot to mention. When you try to setup an account with Bell you need to give them the IMEI # of a device that their network support. In my case, I gave them the IMEI# of my Rogers iPhone 3GS. It worked like a charm. **

Today I decided to take a chance and get my iPad 3G working in Canada. Unfortunately, living in the Great White North, we aren’t … Read More
