by on December 8th, 2010

Right on the heels of the CityTV iPad app, Global released their iPad app recently. This app has full length episodes and clips, schedules, a progress bar when watching shows, and more.

iTunes description:

What is the Global Video application?

Global Video is an exciting new video player application created specifically for the iPad. Watch full-length episodes and clips for all your favourite Global shows like House, Survivor, Hawaii Five-0 and more!

What features are included in the Global Video application?

∙ Full length episodes and clips from all of our premier shows

∙ Progress bars that allow you to quit watching a show at any time and return to the same spot when you resume viewing — even after you’ve exited the application

∙ Our Schedule lets you browse Global TV listings up to two weeks in advance

∙ Behind-the-scenes footage and Web-exclusive content from your favourite Global shows

∙ Your opinion matters to us! In our About section we have an FAQ and a Feedback form where we encourage you to submit questions, concerns or feature requests

The best part of the Global Video app? It’s free! Kudos to Global and CityTV for jumping onto the iOS revolution. There’s more info about the app here.

Has anyone else experienced difficulties with the videos on this App? I was watching The Office on my iPad last evening and ran into a slew of technical issues with this App – videos speeding-up; videos unexpectedly closed; voice and video out of sync; etc. Great idea to have the Global programming on iPad but only if it works as well as, say, Netflix.

@ivictoria… That’s the citytv app… it still has a lot of bugs in it. Global’s app is way better.

Yeah the Global video app sucks, i tried watching the latest episode of House and after the 2nd commercial the program would just automatically closed. Then even if i go back and try to resume watxhing, it wpuld start all over and would close once more. I even deleted the app and added it back just to check if would work but its still the same.

The app isn’t that great. It constantly cuts out and it’s really not worth the hassle…really annoying actually

App sucks, expected a lot more. Jittery skipping video, lack of episodes (which matters not when they don’t play properly) , thanks for wasting my time. And if you guys send me e-mails for having to give it to you to comment, well, we will see about that when it happens.

it won’t play when I connect the iPad to the TV – CTV does, why not Global? Any suggestions?
