PDF Converter for iPad is a fantastic productivity app that helps you easily convert your iPad documents into PDF files! The app is very flexible, enabling you to create PDF files from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or iWork documents. However you can also convert web pages, photos and clipboard content!
The PDF conversion takes place on the iPad, which means you do not need to upload files anywhere. The document never leaves the iPad and the app does not require an Internet connection.
For me, one great advantage of PDF files is when I need to send documents via email. My Pages document may not look very good when sent to a Microsoft Word user, even if I convert the Pages document into Word format. As a PDF however, the original Pages document will be perfect on the Windows end.
When you install the app, you can access PDF Converter from the “Open In…” list found in many document-related apps. For example, you can access the original file from many apps such as Mail, Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, or ReaddleDocs. From here, you “Open In…” PDF Converter and start the conversion.
To convert web pages to PDF however, you’ll need to change the “http” in the URL bar to “pdfhttp” and then tap Go.
If you enjoy using PDF’s and are looking for a streamlined solution for conversion, check out PDF converter in the App Store for $6.99.
As noted previously, PDF Converter officially supports the following formats:
- Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Pages, Numbers, Keynote
- JPG, PNG
- Safari webarchive
