App Review – iMeetingPad

by on May 10th, 2010

Well today I felt just like a kid again. I was finally able to order my iPad. I’m not sure exactly what time the Apple Store opened for pre-orders. I tried to pre-order at 12:01, 2:23, and 5:10 a.m. Eastern Standard time. I finally succeeded shortly after 7:00 this morning and I’m now waiting for what feels like Christmas morning – the opening of my first iPad!

My next task is to fill up my iPad with cool games, books and business apps. I came  across a review of  the iMeetingPad app. Whether you’re a student, teacher, in business or just like to take notes, this app may be for you.

iMeetingPad is focused on helping you organize and share the typical written notes and drawings you might take during a meeting. The interface is clear and provides you with several customization options ranging from paper type, font, font size and colors.  Using the app is very simple; once you launch the app you’re given a blank sheet of paper to start your notes.  iMeetingPad comes equipped with drawing tools to capture org charts or diagrams that often get discussed in internal and customer meetings.  The drawing tools have several features (colors, lines, fills, shapes, etc).

iMeetingPad keeps track of all your meeting notes via the “Meetings” button conveniently located in the navigation bar. Once your meeting is over, you can quickly send out the notes using the built in mail feature.  Your notes are instantly converted to PDF and attached to a new message in the iPad’s email app. iMeetingPad even takes any text you have in your meeting notes and includes it in the body of the mail message.  This way you have the meeting notes in PDF and as plain text so you can forward or edit them on your computer.

The cost of the app is $3.99 for a limited time only. For more information and to download iMeetingPad click here  iMeetingPad.

    Hello Darlene,

I perfectly undesrstand your enthousiam about your Ipad order. For now, I did not make the move yet, and quiute frankly, something bogs me. Difficult to explain, but since one month and more, I think about this jewel. I thought about all kinds of connection I could use. Il jailbreaked my Ipad successfully, to prevent the arrival of this famous machine. I even bougth a mini-router, wifi and wireless, for an alternative connection, just in case and to go to USA, use a Virgin Usb stick modem. But sudently … a detail bogged me in my mind ! I was wondering what happened sunddently !!!!. … What, I don't want this precious thing I was almost dreaming without seeing it ? Did I change my mind, I was wondering? Am I creazy on wimp?

Not at all. Whn I saw the price, read the plans details, here is what happened in my mind. Even if I dreamed of this Ipad,, even if I am able to therter it, use it with my mini-router… well, how can I order a tablet, the most beautiful of what we knoned, … well I did not see this device which I was ready to pay an important price , between 600$ and 800$, accessoires and taxes not includes!!!!. That was bugged me really. I never purchased something I did not see. Not talking here about videos on a device or advertisaing, or blogs, but the real devices. I remember, when I bought my Iphone or my Ipopd Touch, I first tried it .. or at least saw it.

So,l about the Ipad, I could order it, even if I am not very rich., I could make compromises with other things. But, this Ipad is not as a computer, wich you know before what you are buying. And what really bugged me: Suppose I don't like it? Oups! can I have a refund? Still don't know. Because there will be one month between ordering, paying and receive it. So , After more thant one month, not sure I could have a refund, even in Future Shop, Apple Store or Best Buy.

I konw, it sounds silly. How could I not like this master piece, the Ipad? Well, never know, suppose the reality is quite below the expectations. For that reason, maybe I don't like my way of thinking, but I decided NOT to order something major, beautiful, but expensive, until I will not be able to see AND try it in an Apple Store or a Best Buy dealer, or Rogers boutique. Honestly, who is ready to spend an amount of 800$ without seeing it AND try a device. Even a simple computer, we all know the features, but we want to try it in a store, in person, before paying between 500$ and 1000$. So for a device about the same amount, with less possibilities, are we ready to go forward like that, without knowing if we will really like and appreciate it?

Personnally, I prefer not and if there is a big delay before I could see a real one before buying, I am ready to wait a very long time.

    Hello Denis,

Gee it’s still good to hear that there are people in the world who do not get “pressured” into buying products. Essentially, you are correct. I too wouldn’t normally buy a product at that price without having tried it out first. However, I’m a bit of a techie junkie and luv to play with the new toys. To me it’s kind of like buying a fridge and stove. I can’t test these out in the store to see if I like their performance but it is a must have in a home. This is similar to my feelings about the iPad. I’m addicted to technology and therefore must have it. :-} There is also the fear factor involved with not pre-ordering. If I don’t pre-order then I’m afraid of loosing out on having one for a long time after they are released. When the iPhone first came out is was almost impossible to get one in the stores around here (Ottawa). I had to make many many calls to locate an iPhone and as a result I don’t want to go through the same process with the iPad.

Your point about the refund is very interesting and welcomed. I’m not sure how Apple intends on handling this – it will be fun to watch.

I enjoyed reading your comment and I think there are many more people out there who feel the same way. Thank you for following us and providing your feedback!
