Adobe Updates Photoshop Touch with Retina Support for the New iPad

by on September 5th, 2012

Adobe has announced today on their blog Retina support for the iPad iOS version of Photoshop Touch, an app that debuted this February:

Those of you on the new iPad (third generation) will be able to see your images like never before, now that Photoshop Touch supports the new Retina display. The interface, text, and virtually all other areas are now more crisp and clean as well. It was no easy task to get such a complex app like Photoshop Touch to work with the Retina display, but we think you’ll love the result.

The app also is able to work with print-resolution images, up to 12MP in several layers, a setting you change in the preferences. They have also included two new effects, Shred and Colorize, along with smoother animation and scrolling in the organizer, tutorial browser and file picker.

There’s also a new three finger tap gesture to toggle 100% view and full screen, a new pixel nudging mode for even more precise movements plus support for PhotoStream, and bug fixes.

Below is an epic 21 minute video tutorial on how to use Photoshop Touch, made by @meadorsmusings. It’s a must-watch for any Photoshop Touch newbie:

Adobe Photoshop Touch is $9.99 in the App Store.
