Scosche’s new Dual USB iPad Chargers are available.

by on August 11th, 2010

Just a quick note – Scosche announced and now have available their home and car chargers for the iPad. Called the reVIVE II Home and reVIVE II Car, they feature dual USB Ports for charging not only your iPad (on the required 2.1 Amps) but also any other USB Chargable device (Like your iPhone 4, on 1 Amp).

Scosche’s products, in my opinion, are pretty good. While I’ve never used their chargers, I was solidly impressed with their in-ear headphones for iPhone and used them daily until very recently (when they went through the dryer, sadly).

The reVIVE II chargers will retail for $24.99USD(Car) and $29.99USD (Home) plus shipping, and are available now at scosche.com. Note: You have to order over the phone to ship to Canada, call 1-800-363-4490.

I’m curious to know, what chargers to our readers use for their iPads? Instead of/in addition to the standard iPad connection cable?

I purchased two of Scosche's products at Macworld back in February and have been very unimpressed with both of them and question the quality of this company's products. The first is a retractible iPhone cable that stopped working after about a week (I could still charge my phone, but no data was being transferred). I sent the cable back and got a replacement after waiting about three months (I opted for a different product, which has been equally disappointing). The second product I purchased is a car charger with FM transmitter. The FM feature doesn't work properly if the power cable is attached and I discovered on a recent road trip that the unit was somehow draining my iPhone instead of charging it.

Thanks for sharing – I always like hearing about people's first-hand experiences, but sorry about your luck on that. You'll probably steer clear of these, then ;) I seriously used their ear buds for over a year and loved them – so maybe they just dont' have luck in the power department? Again, thanks for sharing.

You're very welcome Chantelle. Glad to hear you had better luck with your ear buds!
