Paul Semenza, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch has told CNET that production of the 7.85″ display slated for use on iPad Mini should begin in August. If the production schedule plays out, it could indicate a late 2012 launch, he said. Recent reports have also suggested that so-called iPad Mini will launch in September alongside the new iPhone at a special Apple event.

During the ongoing patents infringement trial between Apple and Samsung in a San Jose, California court, tons of interesting new iPad prototypes have emerged from the court documents (via The Verge). The source has published Apple mock-ups of nearly 6 different iPad prototype designs.
