In an effort to settle the legal battle over the rights to the Chinese iPad trademark, Apple reportedly offered $16 million to claim the trademark for itself.

Apple’s Efforts To Settle iPad Trademark Dispute With Proview Not Looking Good

It has previously been speculated by analysts that Apple might eventually lose the iPad trademark to Proview Technology in China, who is already battling Apple in a Chinese court over the disputed trademark. Apple Releases iOS 5.1.1 with 3G Network & AirPlay Fixes

This morning Apple released iOS 5.1.1 (build 9B206). The update is minor with a handful of small fixes for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Specifically for the iPad, the update fixes bugs with AirPlay playback and various bugs that may have prevented the new iPad from switching between 2G/3G networks.
