iPad 2 Continues To Reign Supreme, Destroys Motorola’s Xoom

The iPad continues to resign supreme in the world of tablet computing. As Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer pointed out during Apple’s Q3 2011 Earnings call, the company sold 9.2 million iPads in the June 2011 quarter.

Confirmed: BBC iPlayer Coming to Canada Later This Year

BBC Worldwide’s awesome iPlayer app launched its global version today in 11 Western European countries, and confirmed the service will be coming to Canada, the US, and Australia later this year.

At launch, 60% of the global iPlayer content has been produced and commissioned by the BBC, while 30% has been commissioned by the BBC but produced by independents. The other 10% is entirely non-BBC content

Apple Picks Up iPad 3 Suppliers Amid Increasing Competitors

A new report from DigiTimes indicates that Apple may have picked several Taiwan-based companies to supply parts for the unannounced, but upcoming, iPad 3.

Taiwan-based IC design houses Novatek Microelectronics, Richtek Technology, Capella Microsystems (Taiwan) and Integrated Memory Logic (iML) have reportedly entered the supply chain for iPad 3, according to industry sources.
